Service scope

JATS Verify evaluates existing JATS XML using deterministic, production-specific checks and returns release evidence. It does not convert DOCX, publish content, operate as a registry, or verify identifiers with external registries.

Your package

You are responsible for the XML, assets, baselines, profiles, and any rights or authority needed to submit them. You must not submit unlawful, malicious, or unauthorized material, or attempt to interfere with the service.

Evidence, not a publication decision

A pass or fail is evidence against the configured local checks and threshold. It is not a representation that content is error-free, compliant, accepted by a journal or vendor, suitable for publication, or free of legal or editorial risk. You retain the release decision.

Paid package access

A Package Pass costs $12.99 per package and allows a checkout quantity from 1 to 7. Team Credits cost $149 for 100 packages. API Credits cost $499 for 1,000 packages. Each is a one-time purchase providing 12 months of access for the purchased number of unique canonical packages. Rechecking the same canonical XML does not use an additional credit. Each check may include one journal-rules profile and one previous XML baseline. Support scope and work outside this boundary must be agreed separately in writing.

Access is delivered automatically to the email used at Stripe checkout and can be recovered through the Access Center. You are responsible for keeping secure links and API keys confidential. Sharing or attempting to evade package limits may result in access being disabled.

Refunds

If JATS Verify does not provision recoverable paid access, or the service cannot process any otherwise in-scope package because of a service failure, contact [email protected] within seven days of purchase for a refund. After a package is successfully processed, payments are generally non-refundable. This does not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

Free diagnostic

The free diagnostic is limited to one completed check per verified email every 30 days, up to three checks per work-email domain in that period, and additional network limits. It displays up to five findings and does not include downloads, profiles, baseline comparisons, or release bundles. We may reject automated, abusive, or evasive use.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as available. We may change, pause, or discontinue an offer or these operational terms. We do not promise continuous availability, a response time, a specific validation result, or a particular compliance outcome.
