Operational terms draft.

JATS Verify

Terms for a bounded release gate.

Effective 15 August 2026. These are conservative operational terms for JATS Verify, a service of Virtual Projections LLC DBA JATS Verify. They are a draft, not a legal compliance guarantee or legal advice.

Service scope

JATS Verify evaluates existing JATS XML using deterministic, production-specific checks and returns release evidence. It does not convert DOCX, publish content, operate as a registry, or verify identifiers with external registries.

Your package

You are responsible for the XML, assets, baselines, profiles, and any rights or authority needed to submit them. You must not submit unlawful, malicious, or unauthorized material, or attempt to interfere with the service.

Evidence, not a publication decision

A pass or fail is evidence against the configured local checks and threshold. It is not a representation that content is error-free, compliant, accepted by a journal or vendor, suitable for publication, or free of legal or editorial risk. You retain the release decision.

Private paid pilot

The current private paid pilot is $1,500 for 14 days, up to 75 packages, and up to three journal profiles. Pilot availability, support scope, payment timing, and any work outside this boundary must be agreed separately in writing.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as available during the pilot. We may change, pause, or discontinue the pilot or these operational terms. We do not promise continuous availability, a response time, a specific validation result, or a particular compliance outcome.
